SOME STUDENTS
On our painting weeks we try and cover a little of everything. You can paint in oil, watercolour and acrylics. It's all your choice.
Each student is encouraged to take from the scene
whatever they want to
and use some imagination!!
REMEMBER a painting is NOT another photograph!!
This is a 1st oil painting - painted on location by a student!!
Brilliant!!

A beginner's painting - learning fine art composition, brush control, pressure, tonal values and colour mixing in acrylic
 Flamenco!
 Very Spain!!
You are encouraged to be 'adventurous'!
 Sunset over Marbella
 Archway Marbella - in oils
Day 1 - the morning is spent relaxing on sun loungers on the beach and
making sketches and understanding 'concepts' (it's important that any painting course outlines ideas for inspiration) and
how to capture the 'essence' of the space you are in.

Caroline encourages you to either make a drawing of
a complete scene or take various form to compile into a painting.
This artist captured the colour, the serenity and indulgence of the beach!
This artist composed something very simple but effective from familiar Marbellan shapes. The exotic foliage the beach
umbrellas, the palm trees and a local shrine.
A painting which was created/sketched on location and painted in the studio
On location in
Parque Alameda
Day 2 - Painting in oils on location

This artist found inspiration from the fountain in Parque Alameda, the stunning street lights and the exotic foliage.

Day 2 - Painting in oils on location

Another great painting created in Parque Alameda, this time
focusing on the 'real life' that surround the park -
the apartment blocks that overlook the Parque (REAL people live here all year round!)
- along with the fountain and inevitably the exotic foliage.
Oil painting started on location in one of the Parques in Marbella and finished in the studio - a beginner's 1st oil painting!!
On location learning 'perspective

Day 3
We learn 'perespective' in Orange Square (the old town)

Special acrylic painting techniques
Getting inspiration from line and form
on location to create an abstract in the studio

This artist loved the shape of the pigeons that flock
round the fountain in Parque Constituion and turned the
form into a wonderful 'journey'. A brilliant abstract, well
composed and well painted.

Isn't this fun? Great colour and form inspired by birds, peppers, foliage and fauna in the park.
Day 5 is spent finishing off paintings and learning anything extra
